Nathan Tjoe-A-On Provides The Assist For The Opening Goal
Willem II and Heerenveen were evenly matched for the entire first half, with both sides failing to generate truly dangerous attacking opportunities against the opposition defence.
No goals were scored before the referee called time on the first half, leaving the scoreline deadlocked at 0-0.
Willem II began to ramp up their pressure following the restart. The home side's efforts finally paid off in the 61st minute.
Uriel Van Alst put Willem II ahead, finishing off a precise pass supplied by Nathan Tjoe-A-On.
This assist was a critical contribution from Nathan during the fixture, as the Indonesian international defender helped his side break the stalemate after over an hour of goalless play.
Willem II's advantage was short lived however. Just three minutes later, Jacob Trenskow found the net to pull Heerenveen level.
Trenskow got the better of goalkeeper Karst De Leeuw to make the score 1-1.
Heerenveen Turn The Tie Around To Take The Lead
The match opened up significantly after both sides registered their first goals. Heerenveen seized control of proceedings and completed a turnaround in the 77th minute.
Oliver Braude scored Heerenveen's second goal, converting a pass from Levi Smans who had only just entered the match as a substitute.
Willem II faced a difficult task to recover the deficit in the remaining game time, but the hosts produced a rapid response.
Five minutes after Braude's goal, Willem II regained momentum. Devin Haen struck in the 82nd minute, restoring parity at 2-2.
Nathan departed the pitch three minutes after this equaliser, with Alessio Ciranni introduced to replace the Indonesian national team defender in the 85th minute.
No further goals were registered before full time, meaning both Willem II and Heerenveen had to settle for sharing a single point apiece.
This result leaves Willem II rooted in the lower section of the Eredivisie table with 1 point from 4 matches, while Heerenveen remain in 9th position with 5 total points.
