Dewa United Banten FC are scheduled to host Persija Jakarta for the eighth matchweek of BRI Super League 2026/27. Playing at Banten International Stadium, Serang on Saturday 31 October at 19.00 WIB, the Banten Warriors are determined to bounce back after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Arema FC.
In their previous fixture, Dewa United were outclassed by Arema FC with a final score of 0-4. This result came as a major blow for Osmar Loss's side, and also brought an end to their six match unbeaten run.
This defeat also eliminated Dewa United's chance to maintain their points gap with Persija at the top of the table. They currently sit in second place on 14 points, four points behind Macan Kemayoran.

Shin Tae-yong is not yet satisfied even though Persija Jakarta have won all three of their opening matches in the Super League.
Loss has refused to let his squad dwell on disappointment. He confirmed the team has completed full evaluation and drawn all necessary lessons from the defeat in Malang.
"We have taken every lesson we can from that bitter defeat. Right now we know exactly what needs to be done," he stated on the official I.League platform.
The Brazilian head coach is approaching this fixture against Persija with full optimism. He noted that the available preparation period has been used to fix identified weaknesses and finalise game strategy against the league leaders.
"Our preparations have run very smoothly. We had sufficient time to Train properly and get ready for this match," Loss added.
Home Form As Dewa United's Foundation
There is valid reason for Dewa United to remain confident despite their recent heavy loss. They remain unbeaten in all three home matches played this season, with a record of two wins and one draw.
Home crowd support at Banten International Stadium is expected to provide extra motivation for the players. That said, this unbeaten home record will face its toughest test yet, as Persija arrive with a far more productive attacking unit.
According to official I.League Standings, Persija have scored 17 goals and conceded only 6 across 7 matches played. By comparison, Dewa United have registered 12 goals scored and 10 conceded this campaign.
This statistical gap confirms Dewa United will need to drastically improve their defensive coordination. The 0-4 thrashing by Arema should serve as a clear warning not to leave large open spaces for opponents to exploit once again.
At the same time, Loss has avoided focusing on direct comparisons between his squad and Persija. Instead he has directed all team focus onto improving Dewa United's own on-pitch quality.
Loss also emphasised that Persija's 2-3 defeat against Persita Tangerang at this very same stadium in the previous matchweek cannot be used as a reliable benchmark for how this upcoming fixture will play out.
"Right now the most important thing is we focus fully on our own team condition and quality, then go out and give our absolute best performance on the pitch," he stated.
Chance To Close The Gap On Persija
This clash against Persija carries critical importance for Dewa United's league position. If they can secure all three points, they will climb to 17 points and cut the gap at the top of the table down to just one single point.
Conversely, a defeat would see Persija pull even further ahead with a seven point advantage. This is an outcome Loss is determined to avoid, with the title race still at a very early stage.
Persija remain a formidable opponent. The side managed by Shin Tae-yong have won six out of their opening seven matches. With well balanced attack and defensive lines, Dewa United will need to deliver a far more solid performance than they showed against Arema.
For Loss, this duel against Persija also presents an opportunity to prove Dewa United belong in the top title race. A win will act as the perfect response to their heavy defeat, while also keeping their challenge for first place firmly on track.
