Dewa United Banten FC are scheduled to host Persija Jakarta for the eighth matchweek of the BRI Super League 2026/27. Taking place at Banten International Stadium, Serang on Saturday 31 October at 19.00 WIB, the Banten Warriors are determined to bounce back after suffering a heavy defeat against Arema FC.
In their previous fixture, Dewa United were outclassed by Arema FC with a final score of 0-4. This result came as a major blow for Osmar Loss' squad, and brought an end to their six-match unbeaten run.
This defeat also eliminated Dewa United's chance to maintain their gap with Persija at the top of the table. They currently sit in second position with 14 points, four points behind Macan Kemayoran.

Shin Tae-yong is not yet satisfied even though Persija Jakarta have won all three of their opening matches in the Super League.
Loss has refused to let his players dwell on disappointment. He confirmed that the team has completed full evaluation and drawn lessons from the defeat in Malang.
"We have taken lessons from that bitter defeat. Right now we know exactly what needs to be done," he stated on the official I.League portal.
The Brazilian head coach is approaching the match against Persija with optimism. He noted that the available preparation period has been used to fix various weaknesses and finalise strategy to face the league leaders.
"Our preparations have been Running quite well. We have had sufficient time to Train and get ourselves ready," stated Loss.
Unbeaten Home Record As Dewa United's Foundation
Dewa United have every reason to stay confident despite their recent heavy loss. They remain unbeaten across three home matches this season, with two wins and one draw.
Home supporter turnout at Banten International Stadium is expected to provide extra morale for the squad. That said, this home record will face a serious test, as Persija arrive with significantly better attacking output.
According to official I.League Standings, Persija have scored 17 goals and conceded only 6 across 7 matches. Meanwhile, Dewa United have recorded 12 goals scored and 10 conceded.
This statistical gap shows Dewa United must improve their defensive coordination. The 0-4 thrashing by Arema serves as a clear warning against leaving too much open space for the opposition once again.
On the other hand, Loss has avoided focusing too heavily on comparing his squad to Persija. He has instead directed all attention to improving Dewa United's own on-pitch quality.
According to Loss, Persija's previous 2-3 defeat against Persita Tangerang at this very same stadium cannot be used as a reference to predict how the upcoming match will unfold.
"Right now the most important thing is that we focus on our own team condition and quality, then strive to deliver our best performance on the pitch," he added.
Chance To Close The Gap On Persija
This fixture against Persija carries critical importance for Dewa United's league position. If they secure all three points, they will reach 17 points and cut the gap to the league leaders down to just one single point.
Conversely, a defeat will allow Persija to pull away with a seven point advantage. This is a scenario Loss is determined to avoid, with the top of table competition still very much at an early stage.
Persija are far from an easy opponent. Shin Tae-yong's squad have won six out of their opening seven matches. With balanced attack and defensive lines, Dewa United will need to deliver a far more solid performance than they did in their last outing.
For Loss, this duel against Persija is an opportunity to prove that Dewa United remain a legitimate contender at the top of the table. A victory will serve as the perfect response to their heavy defeat against Arema, while also keeping their chase for first place firmly alive.
